Using EveryDNS with Free Host (FH)

There are many people here using EveryDNS to manage their domain DNS (.com, .org etc.), and now they use free host (FH) service for the hosting. FH supports its own DNS Management (MX, CNAME record) and Email Management, so virtually all you have to do is move from EveryDNS to FH for the sake of hosting and DNS management. That means changing your domain name spaces from nsx.everydns.net to nsx.FH.com (x goes from 1 to 5). After that you can go to FH Cpanel to fully manage your domain and configure other settings.

But the problem is for some reasons, say, you can not change your name spaces or you want to keep all the settings set at everyDNS, you want to use everyDNS along with FH. OK, so here is the deal.

1. Go to Addon Domains in FH Cpanel and add your domain.com there.
2. From now on, your domain.com content on FH would be located in /domain.org/htdocs. Upload a test file (like index.html) there. Remember, /domain.org/htdocs, NOT just /htdocs.
3. Ping to your free sub-domain at FH (your sub-domain would be something like something.my-webs.org) and copy that first IP address returned.
4. Go to EveryDNS, and add a new A record:

* Fully Qualified Domain Name: domain.com (replace with your own domain dude!)
* Record Type: A
* Record Value: paste the IP upon here
* If MX Record, MX Value: leave it blank as is.

Note: If you already have another A record, you may have to remove it.
5. The change takes place in less the 5 minutes. A ping to your domain.com would result the new IP you've added. If still you cannot get that new IP when pinging to domain.com, try refreshing the DNS servers of your internet connection. You may want to use a proxy to test if the change's taken place.
6. When your domain fully points to FH, open your browser and test http://domain.com/index.html if it works. That's all. You may want to start uploading your files and importing your SQL databases as well at this point
